Synthetic Rubber
Synthetic Rubber Synthetic Rubber Plasticizers used in the rubber industry have three possible functions, one or more of which may be applicable: as processing aid, as extenders (to reduce compound cost), as active ingredients capable of imparting special properties to vulcanizates. Blowing agents for rubber, like Porofor® ADC/M-C1, decompose either just before or during the cure. This gives the material a porous or cellular structure and a low specific gravity.
