Conveyor belts
Conveyor belts used in industry or at airports for luggage transport, for example, are largely made from plasticized PVC. The basic structure comprises a synthetic fabric coated with plasticized PVC.
In order to ensure good adhesion between the PVC anchor coat and the fabric, a product such as Bonding Agent 2001, 2005 or 2007 must be added to the PVC anchor coat. In many application areas, such as mining, flame retardance is eßential; in such cases the conveyor belts are manufactured with the flame retarding plasticizers Disflamoll® DPK or TKP. Ultramoll® III is suitable for use as a plasticizer for conveyor belts intended for the transport of foodstuffs because it is approved for a whole range of food contact applications.
