Truck tarpaulins


Truck tarpaulins have to be flexible and lightweight; they protect the load and also serve as an advertising medium. They are exposed to weathering with extreme temperature variations.

The tarpaulins are made from polyester or polyamide fabrics coated with plasticized PVC. Good adhesion of the anchor coat to the synthetic fabric can only be achieved by adding a bonding agent.

If Mesamoll® is used as a plasticizer for the PVC paste, the very good gelling capacity means that the processing temperature can be kept fairly low. In subsequent use the tarpaulins demonstrate excellent durability, because Mesamoll is extremely resistant to saponification.

Disflamoll® DPK is used as a plasticizer if the tarpaulins have to be flame retardant. If both flame retardance and lightfastness are required, the best results are obtained by using the flame retardant plasticizer Disflamoll® DPO.
